I'm in normal condition now, I've been in very bad condition. The brother of the village head of Shurnukh was released from the Investigative Committee
The brother of the village head of Shurnukh, Syunik province, Ararat Aghabekyan, known as Ashkharhapet, has just left the building of the Investigative Committee. He has been charged under the first part of Article 258 of the RA Criminal Code (hooliganism).
In a conversation with journalists, Ararat Aghabekyan stated that a preventive measure has been chosen for him, which is a signature obligation not to leave. News.am reports.
Commenting on his health condition, Ararat Aghabekyan said, “I’m in normal condition now, but I was in very bad condition. I was taken out of my home and illegally detained, brought here. I have had nothing to do with anything, they brought me here in the most disgraceful way. I have traveled this far, and this is how they have humiliated me. Some deputy said that they should bring me here while humiliating me, and he will answer for that ‘p…k.’ How does he have the right to say that, treating me and the other guys as less than human, bringing us in like prisoners? I will still voice this to the relevant authorities.”
Regarding the charges brought against him, the village head's brother emphasized, “No charge can be placed on me; whatever they’ve placed is completely false. I have been recovering at home for six days, I didn’t even step outside. Early in the morning, they came and took me out of my house. For this, everyone will answer. I couldn’t care less about this government. I don’t know how long these illegal actions will continue. Who will be responsible for this disgrace, who will answer for all this pulling and tearing of us?”
He stressed that he does not consider himself guilty, stating, “I have not committed any sin, I am not that kind of guy. They are linking me to some incident involving egg throwing; I am not the kind of person to throw eggs, I am the kind of person to throw grenades, that’s my tactic. I am not like those who would creep into someone’s home at midnight like a traitor. Nighttime is not for going into a village or someone’s home. They entered a villager’s home, and when the villager told them to leave respectfully, they went back in again. The kids are scared, thinking that Turks have surrounded us.”
When asked if they called for emergency help or provided medical assistance at the Investigative Committee, Aghabekyan shared, “A doctor came, a monkey, who made me nervous; they then took me for a coronavirus test. I have received adequate treatment, and I have dealt with the coronavirus. There is still weakness; I do not feel anything. Last night, they took me and kept me in isolation.”
He mentioned that they did not take him to the hospital; they only tested him at the Investigative Committee. “They want to give Syunik away; we won’t let them, and we will not give it up. I am here today, but my wife, children, and brothers are there, and they won’t give it away. When a deputy officially states that they should bring us down, that big idiot, how can he say such a thing? I am a guy who has been through three wars, and they are bringing me in hunched over like a saboteur; they will have to answer,” said the brother of Hakob Arshakyan.
