Criminal Case Initiated by Police Following Incident Near Prosecutor's Office

Yesterday, a criminal case was initiated under Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Armenia (hooliganism) following an incident near the Office of the Prosecutor General of Armenia, as reported by Edgar Janoyan, the Deputy Head of the Police Public Relations Department.

The case has been forwarded to the Investigative Committee for preliminary investigation.

It is worth noting that clashes had erupted the day before between police officers and protesters near the Prosecutor's Office. Fourteen participants of the demonstration were detained by the police. One police officer's health deteriorated and was taken to a medical center.
