This information was reported by the presidential press service.

Sarkissian expressed his gratitude to the presidents, parliaments, and civil, spiritual, scientific, and academic communities for recognizing and condemning the Armenian Genocide in various formats, as well as for demonstrating solidarity with the Armenian people.

In a letter addressed to French President Emmanuel Macron, President Sarkissian specifically noted: “The recognition of the Armenian Genocide, the participation of the French President in the ceremony dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Genocide in Yerevan, and your decree declaring April 24 as the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Armenian Genocide once again emphasize France's consistency and commitment to universal values.”

In the letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Sarkissian particularly mentioned: “Armenia highly appreciates Russia's and your personal efforts in recognizing and condemning the Armenian Genocide. The recognition of the Genocide, the declaration that recognizes April 24 as the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Armenian Genocide, the State Duma's statement in connection with the 100th anniversary of the Genocide, as well as your participation in the ceremony dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Genocide once again emphasize Russia's consistency and commitment to universal values.”

In a letter to U.S. President Joe Biden, President Sarkissian commended the 2019 decision of the U.S. Congress and specifically noted: “We received with great satisfaction the adoption of the resolution recognizing the Armenian Genocide by the House of Representatives in 2019, followed by the unanimous decision of the U.S. Senate.”

The President of Armenia emphasized that recognizing the Armenian Genocide means acknowledging the crime against humanity: “We are convinced that one of the tools for preventing genocides and genocidal policies is their recognition and condemnation. We expect that you will reaffirm your commitment to promoting historical justice and preventing new genocides.”

In the letters, the President of Armenia expressed confidence that the process of international recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide would contribute to preventing genocide as a crime against humanity and eliminating impunity worldwide.
