There Was a Time When the Armenian Army General Was a Value Due to Its Content and Hard-to-Reach Height: Hasratyan

Today, the general is no longer a peak that anyone who chooses a military profession should strive for, but rather a title that cautious people prefer to avoid. This is stated by Colonel Senor Hasratyan, former head of the information and public relations department of the Artsakh Armed Forces, in a Facebook post.

“There was a time when the Armenian army general was a value due to its content and hard-to-reach height. When saying ‘general,’ an Armenian understood war, a path taken, and, ultimately, authority. But another time came, when for Armenians, the general, through his past, became not special but ordinary, and in some places even the target of unjust criticism.

Today, the general is no longer a peak to which anyone who has chosen a military profession should strive. Instead, it is just a title that cautious people prefer to avoid. This is the case because previously, the general was valued for victories and for rendering exceptional services to the Fatherland, while today, he is seen as obediently serving due to defeats and number one random missteps in military affairs.

Note: A general is a person who also has the weakness of making mistakes. This has been the case in the past and continues to be so today. However, it is important that, at least, those mistakes be worthy of a general, without humiliating subservience and not just for the sake of saving one's own skin.”
