Recent reports stating that COVID-19 positive pregnant women are admitted to the maternity ward of St. Gregory the Illuminator Medical Center are incorrect and do not reflect the reality. This information has been confirmed by the Medical Center.

“This is perhaps a result of confusion, as the treatment of pregnant women with coronavirus is conducted at our medical center. The medical center and the maternity ward are in separate buildings, situated at a considerable distance from each other.

Our maternity ward continues to follow the regular protocol for the management of pregnant women and mothers. The maternity ward offers free childbirth assistance and prenatal care, monitoring of high-risk pregnancies for all pathological conditions, an individualized approach for each pregnant woman, postpartum hospital rooms designed for mothers and babies, neonatal resuscitation, intensive therapy, and special care units equipped with all necessary devices for neonatal care, provided by professional and attentive medical staff.”
