Prisoners Able to Connect with Relatives
Prisoners held in Azerbaijan have been given the opportunity to connect with their relatives via telephone. This information was shared in a conversation with Sputnik Armenia by Zara Amatuni, head of communication programs for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Armenia.
“We are pleased that the opportunity to maintain contact with families continues. Of course, this concerns those individuals for whom we have accurate information and whose existence and location have been confirmed. Within the framework of the regular visits by ICRC representatives—whether through letters, oral messages, or, when possible, phone calls—contact is maintained with relatives,” Amatuni noted.
The head of communication programs at the ICRC in Armenia emphasized that the Red Cross is keeping in touch with all relatives, but did not specify how many prisoners were granted the opportunity to speak with their loved ones this time.
