Haik Chobanyan, Ara Aivazyan, and Vahan Kerobyan Visit 'Engineering City'
The Minister of High-Tech Industry Haik Chobanyan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ara Aivazyan, and the Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan visited 'Engineering City' on April 19.
Haik Chobanyan emphasized the importance of 'Engineering City' as a crucible for Armenian engineering thought. “Today, we will speak more about the industrial city than 'Engineering City'. Our response to Azerbaijan must be an industrial Armenia. We must restore the prospect of Armenia being an industrial country in the next ten years,” the minister highlighted.
The President of the 'Engineering Association' Council Aram Salatyan presented the details of the 'Engineering City' project implementation to the ministers. He particularly noted that construction works in 'Engineering City' will begin in June-July by seven resident companies. According to him, the program is progressing quite successfully in terms of knowledge, while there are still certain tasks to be addressed regarding production.
Minister Haik Chobanyan stated that to achieve tangible results, it is essential to identify all stakeholders, develop a working plan, clarify tasks, and prepare an action plan in the coming weeks.
Minister Ara Aivazyan suggested his department's support for resolving issues related to 'Engineering City's' international cooperation. He noted that several French and other companies have already shown interest in the project.
Minister Vahan Kerobyan mentioned that a project for constructing an Industrial Park has been developed. The minister proposed discussing the potential collaboration between 'Engineering City' and the 'Industrial Park'.
The partner ministers, appreciating the opportunity to create favorable conditions for the development of engineering and science in our country, expressed their readiness to join forces in the implementation of this crucial national project.
At the end of the visit, the ministers toured 'Engineering City' and got acquainted with the ideas of Armenian engineers and the products already developed.
The primary goal of creating 'Engineering City' is to transform Armenia into a country that exports engineering and high-tech products and services to global markets, as well as to become a regional hub for innovative engineering and high-tech solutions.
