Residents of Arabkir Administrative District's Building 79A Plant Over 150 New Trees Instead of Recently Cut Ones
Today, residents of building 79A in the Arabkir administrative district of Yerevan declared a tree planting day in the park opposite the "Slavmed" medical center. According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan from the scene, representatives of both the older and younger generations, along with their children, planted over 150 trees near the stumps of those recently cut down.
In an interview with the photojournalist, residents expressed their frustration: "Even the district mayor had worked with the residents to beautify the park, installing playground attractions for children, and we lovingly maintained the park, which remained untouched even during the dark and cold years of the 1990s. We can’t comprehend how a tree killer thought to massacre over 100 trees in just a few days."
It is worth noting that on April 15, the head of the Arabkir administrative district, Aram Danielyan, submitted a petition to the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia contesting the decision to grant ownership rights to the land area of the park in front of the "Slavmed" medical center at Baghramyan 79A.
