Weather and Roads: Air Temperature to Rise by 8-10 Degrees, Lars is Open

During the day on April 17, as well as on the 19th and 22nd, short-term rain and thunderstorms are expected in some areas mainly after noon. This is reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The wind will be southwest at a speed of 5-10 m/s, with possible gusts of 15-20 m/s in some areas.

The air temperature is expected to gradually rise by 8-10 degrees from April 17 to 21, due to the influx of warm air currents from the south.

In Yerevan, dry weather is expected on the afternoon of April 17, the night of the 18th, and on the 19th and 22nd; however, thunderstorms may occur in some parts of the city on the evening of the 18th, and short-term rain and thunderstorms are anticipated during the day on the 20th and 21st.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that there are closed roads in the territory of the Republic of Armenia. In the Aragatsotn region, the roads leading from the "Amberd" high mountain meteorological station to Amberd Fortress and to Kari Lake are closed.

Regarding Lars, according to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Emergency Situations Ministry of Russia’s North Ossetia Crisis Management Center, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open. There are about 400 trucks queued on the Russian side.
