Video: Pashinyan Reveals How Parliament Majority Would Reelect Him After Resignation
“I will resign in the last ten days of April. According to the agreement, the parliamentary opposition factions and their representatives will not nominate a candidate for prime minister during this period. I will formally present myself as a candidate for prime minister merely to preserve the procedure twice; the other forces should not nominate a candidate,” said Nikol Pashinyan during a meeting with residents of the Rind community in Vayots Dzor province today.
“Many say, what if a candidate is nominated during this time and a palace coup is attempted... They can’t, dear people, but if certain political forces or circles come out and do not allow the will of the people to be expressed through elections, there’s an easy solution for that as well: the parliamentary majority will reelect me as prime minister, and the topic will be closed. We have considered all possible scenarios,” he added.
