Vaccinations with Sputnik V Vaccine to Start in Armenia on April 19

The vaccination against the coronavirus disease with the Russian "Sputnik V" vaccine will begin in Armenia on April 19. The vaccine has already been distributed to primary healthcare institutions.

This was announced by the spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, Hriphsime Khachatryan, to "Hayakakan Zhamanak." She stated, "The first batch of 15,000 doses of the Sputnik V vaccine will be administered to healthcare workers, individuals with chronic illnesses, staff of social care institutions, and citizens aged between 18 and 55. Citizens aged 55 and older will have the opportunity to be vaccinated with this vaccine when a new batch is imported from Russia. More individuals over the age of 55 will also be vaccinated with this vaccine."

It should be noted that vaccinations against the coronavirus disease with the "AstraZeneca" vaccine began in Yerevan on April 13 and in the regions on April 14. Currently, individuals aged 65 and older in the high-risk group are being vaccinated in the first phase.
