State Audit Office Employees Removed from Yerevan City Hall Preventing Inspections

According to the "Hayots Ashkharh" newspaper, the State Audit Office recently faced resistance when attempting to conduct inspections at Yerevan City Hall. The employees of the State Audit Office were reportedly removed from the city hall and not allowed to carry out inspections.

The newspaper contacted the Yerevan City Hall to clarify what transpired, why the State Audit Office initiated inspections, and the reason behind the city's authorities' resistance. In response, they stated, "We suggest you obtain the answer to your inquiry from the governmental bodies authorized by the RA legislation to conduct inspections and studies." Meanwhile, representatives from the State Audit Office neither confirmed nor denied our information, stating that they do not comment on the news.

It should be noted that inspections at the city hall have effectively been unsuccessful due to direct resistance from the mayor, Hayk Marutyan, who claimed they do not have the right to inspect him. It is worth mentioning that the order for inspections at the city hall was given by the head of the government staff, Arsen Torosyan, due to Marutyan having ceased communication with the My Step faction and having moved out of control.

Finally, despite this resistance, employees of the State Audit Office continue their inspections.
