Employee of Telecom Armenia Steals Cables Worth 7.6 Million Drams

The investigation into a case of embezzlement of significant amounts by an employee of Telecom Armenia CJSC has been completed by the Lori regional investigative department of the RA Investigative Committee, according to the information and public relations department of the RA Investigative Committee.

According to the obtained data, a 26-year-old individual, who took on the role of the responsible person for the property of the Telecom Armenia CJSC warehouse located at T. Metc address in Vanadzor city in February 2017, misappropriated property entrusted to him. Between May and August 2020, he continuously cut and stole cables valued at 7,696,327 drams through embezzlement and then separated the copper wires from the insulation by burning them, which he sold as scrap.

Based on the sufficient evidence gathered, the 26-year-old has been charged under Article 179, Part 3, Point 1 of the RA Criminal Code (embezzlement or wastage). A precautionary measure of signature not to leave has been chosen against him. The investigation has been completed, and the criminal case has been sent to the court with an accusatory conclusion.
