DNA Match Found, Yet Parents Were Not Informed: Soldier's Recognizable Body Kept for Months in Heratsi
Today, a 19-year-old soldier who fell during the last war in Artsakh will be buried. The young man served in Hadrut. His parents last spoke to him on September 29. This was reported by journalist Gohar Savzyan on her Facebook page.
“On October 5, the boy’s name was listed among the casualties, but his body was not being given to the parents. It was missing. For 7 months, the parents searched for him everywhere, even falling victim to fraud, as a scoundrel with a similar Armenian name and surname told them and many others that their son was a prisoner. That perpetrator is now in prison; we hope for the end of his worthless life.
The parents continued their search and even managed to remove their son’s name from the list of casualties. They provided a sample for DNA testing, but still no news came. After repeatedly banging on the door of the Heratsi hospital without any results, the parents continued to seek their son’s body or remains, especially since the person occupying the Prime Minister's chair had declared that families should search in morgues for their children. They searched... and found. A complete recognizable body, which had actually been in Heratsi for 6 months.
It turned out that there was also a DNA match, which the authorities did not deem necessary to inform the parents about. We now live in this reality while these officials are confident they will receive votes again. Shame on us,” the journalist wrote.
