Badasyan Presents Advantages of Establishing the Ministry of Internal Affairs

The establishment of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will ensure parliamentary and civic oversight over the operations of the police, unify the development of sector policies, separate civil and police functions, and facilitate the ongoing reforms within the police, which will significantly contribute to strengthening the rule of law.

This was stated by Minister of Justice Rustam Badasyan in a post on his Facebook page.

"The government today approved the legislative initiative to create the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Armenia. The bodies under the ministry will include the police, police forces, the Migration and Citizenship Service, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs Training Center as a state non-commercial organization," Badasyan wrote.
