What Are We Doing to Prevent Such Parks from Opening? Marukyan on the 'Military Trophy Park' Opened in Baku
Yesterday, Armenian social networks were flooded with statements from Azerbaijan's criminal political leadership regarding the opening of a park in Azerbaijan. Edmon Marukyan, the head of the 'Enlightened Armenia' faction, made this statement during his speech at the National Assembly of Armenia on April 13.
“Today, the session of the parliament opened with condemnations of that behavior. What do we think, do we believe that our condemnatory speeches in parliament have a significant impact on Azerbaijan? They will look and say, ‘We opened a park, and an entire country is in an uproar.’ So, what are we doing to prevent such parks from opening? Do your statements today align with the statements made in the last two months, or do they not?” he said.
Marukyan also questioned where the statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was. “Do you think that by cursing Aliyev in Armenian here, it has any impact on the world? Where is international diplomatic work? Something needs to be done; the whole world should see what kind of grotesque leadership the South Caucasus region is dealing with, what a disaster the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem is. Work must be done,” he stated.
Marukyan reminded that after the April War in 2016, they visited Artsakh as a parliamentary group and conducted a fact-finding mission. Since then, they have lobbied for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to work and present those facts. According to him, since that work was not done, it repeated itself in 2020, and if it is not done today, it will happen again. “Action must be taken, and not just in Armenian from the podium of the National Assembly,” he said.
It should be noted that yesterday, a 'Military Trophy Park' was opened in Baku, featuring more than 300 exhibits, including up to 150 pieces of heavy machinery, helmets of Armenian soldiers, and mannequins representing servicemen, all displayed in a humiliating and disgraceful state.
