Mass Vaccination Against COVID-19 Begins Today in Armenia

On April 13, Armenia launches a large-scale vaccination process against coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Specific risk groups have been designated for vaccination, including individuals aged 65 and older, chronic patients aged 18-64, residents and staff of elderly care centers, and staff of social care centers.

It is noteworthy that Armenia has imported 24,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine and 15,000 doses, sufficient for 7,500 individuals, of the Sputnik-V vaccine. Vaccinations are conducted on a voluntary basis among the risk groups.

Individuals under 55 years of age who fall within the risk groups will receive the Sputnik-V vaccine, while those aged 55 and older will be vaccinated with the AstraZeneca vaccine.

Additionally, it is important to mention that previously acquired 2,000 doses of the Sputnik-V vaccine have already been administered to the medical staff of COVID-19 service centers.

Vaccinated citizens include Artem Aleksanyan, Evgenia Papoyan, and Hasmik Meliksetyan, a doctor at the SGL Medical Center clinic.
