If we had bought SU aircraft, or more modern weapons a little earlier, we would have managed to buy missiles too: MP
When for 25 years one of the two conflicting states has been armed with oil dollars and an incomparably larger budget, while in Armenia there has effectively been a plunder of the army, it was natural that the result would be an imbalance of forces to such an extent that it would lead to a breaking point. Unfortunately, we have not managed this in the past 2.5 years. This statement was made by Vahagn Aleksanyan, a new MP from the 'My Step' faction, in a conversation with journalists in the National Assembly today, April 13.
“Yes, perhaps we are to blame for not breaking that ratio,” he said. Responding to the reminder that the current government was buying SU aircraft, whose missiles did not work during the war, Aleksanyan replied, “If we had bought SU aircraft, or more modern weapons a little earlier, we would have managed to buy missiles too.”
When asked who is responsible for losing most of Artsakh and having over 5,000 casualties, he said, “Of course, the main share of the blame lies with those people who have stolen for 25 years without the slightest conscience.” In response to whether the current authorities are not responsible, he said, “The current government is guilty in that it has not managed to break the balance of forces that has been established due to the previous incompetent authorities in 2.5 years.”
