I Will Not Participate in the Elections on Behalf of Any Party or Bloc: Gayane Abrahamyan

Former MP and ex-member of the 'My Step' faction, Gayane Abrahamyan, addressed circulating rumors about her participation in the upcoming elections through her Facebook page.

“I will not participate in the upcoming elections on behalf of any party or bloc. Despite several offers, I consider it inappropriate to engage in political activities and processes at this stage. As I clearly emphasized in my resignation statement, my status can never be an end in itself. If, as a member of parliament, I cannot genuinely influence decision-making, then I would prefer to focus on other platforms that are much more effective and have a clear agenda,” Abrahamyan stated.

She continued, “I am committed to my civic activities. My main directions of work have not changed since my resignation. My primary aim in the coming years is to implement programs aimed at providing professional education for injured soldiers and families affected by the war, developing new skills, becoming competitive in the job market, finding employment, and building a dignified future. We have already started this work, and if you wish to support, I am placing my contact in the comments.”

“I am also currently working on programs related to the education of youth, protection of rights, community development, women’s empowerment, and creating new educational opportunities. I kindly ask that no discussions about my potential political career take place in any media or 'kitchen' outlets. If I decide to continue, I will announce it myself; I will definitely not be doing so in the upcoming elections.”
