Hakob Arshakyan's Act of Hitting a Journalist Will Not Receive Legal Progress: Special Investigative Service Declines to Initiate Criminal Case
The incident recorded between former Minister of High-Tech Industry Hakob Arshakyan and journalist Paylak Fahradyan will not receive legal progress, as the Special Investigative Service has declined to initiate a criminal case.

“Based on the prepared materials, a decision has been made to refuse to initiate a criminal case due to the absence of an offense,” stated the Special Investigative Service.
Recall that at a café in Yerevan, the journalist approached Hakob Arshakyan and asked why he was in the café during working hours. Shortly after, Arshakyan approached the journalist and hit him, damaging property. The Prosecutor’s Office had given consideration to the publication, and the released video was examined, with expert assessments appointed. Today, a decision was made not to initiate a criminal case.
