Arshak Karapetyan Appointed First Deputy Chief of the Armed Forces General Staff of Armenia

In accordance with the provisions of the Constitution and the law on the status of military service and military personnel, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan proposed to the President of the Republic on April 7, 2021, to appoint Arshak Karapetyan as the first deputy chief of the Armed Forces General Staff, attaching a draft order relevant to this position. This information has been reported by the government.

Considering that the President of the Republic did not sign the proposal submitted by Nikol Pashinyan within the timeframes set forth in Article 139, Part 2 of the Constitution, and did not return it with objections, based on Article 139, Part 3 of the Constitution, Arshak Karapetyan has been legally considered appointed as the first deputy chief of the Armed Forces General Staff of Armenia as of April 13, 2021.
