New Tragicomedy at YSU: 11 Representatives of the Ruling Wing Submit Resignation from Board, Abajyan States
The head of the "Youth for Development" foundation, Khachik Abajyan, has made a post on his Facebook page regarding the situation at Yerevan State University (YSU).
"A new tragicomedy at YSU… without interruption… You may recall the disgraceful behavior of the representatives of the ruling wing during the previous meeting of the Board of Trustees at YSU; no one showed up, and the meeting collapsed. Today, under unclear circumstances, 11 representatives of the ruling wing of the YSU Board of Trustees have submitted their resignations without any explanation. It is clear what these ladies and gentlemen are trying to do: to ensure that the Board of Trustees of YSU is dissolved and that the university is left without a council once again. (If more than half of the council members' powers (17 individuals) are terminated, the council will be dissolved.) This is yet another display of disdain and contempt towards the Mother University. People want to dismantle what they have done nothing to build. I sincerely hope that no one from the university side will join this disgraceful sabotage; otherwise, it will not be perceived and accepted later on.
The members who have resigned are:
- Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports Zhanna Andreasian
- Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports Artur Martirosyan
- Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry Viktoria Poghosyan
- Head of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister Bagrat Badalyan
