Azerbaijanis Open Fire from Sarkhashen, Damage to Civilian Tractor
On April 7, around 09:40 AM, Azerbaijani forces opened fire from the territory of Sarkhashen, which is occupied by Azerbaijan, targeting residents of the village of Sarushen engaged in agricultural work, specifically 65-year-old Shirin Adami Sargsyan and 36-year-old Vitali Alyoshayi Harutyunyan, according to a report from the Information and Public Relations Department of the Republic of Artsakh's Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The Azerbaijani side utilized a machine gun, resulting in damage to the left side window of the tractor belonging to Harutyunyan. Investigators from the Askeran district police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Artsakh have taken statements from Sargsyan and Harutyunyan, photographed the scene and the tractor, and prepared relevant materials to present to the command of the Russian peacekeeping forces.
In addition, by order of the Minister of Internal Affairs Karen Sargsyan, police posts along the Shosh-Sarushen-Karmir Shuka domestic highway will continue to operate in an enhanced mode. Additional posts will be established as necessary for around-the-clock monitoring.
It is noteworthy that this incident marks the second recorded occurrence between Armenians and Azerbaijanis on this section of the road.
