Azerbaijanis Aim to Keep Artsakh Armenians in Atmosphere of Fear, Says Presidential Spokesperson
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh, Hunan Tadevosyan, has issued a statement regarding an incident that occurred on April 7 at around 09:40. Azerbaijani forces opened fire from the territory of the occupied village of Sargsashen towards residents conducting agricultural work in the fields of the village of Sarushen, specifically targeting 65-year-old Shirin Adami Sargsyan and 36-year-old Vitali Alyoshayi Harutyunyan. The Azerbaijani side used a machine gun, resulting in damage to the left side window of the tractor belonging to V. Harutyunyan.
The investigation team from the Askeran Regional Department of the Artsakh Ministry of Internal Affairs has prepared a report to submit to the command of the Russian peacekeeping forces.
In an interview with ArmDaily.am, the spokesperson for the Artsakh President, Lusine Avanesyan, stated that the Azerbaijani forces are attempting to keep the Armenian population of Artsakh in a state of fear, hindering their ability to engage in their daily activities.
