Shooting in Abovyan: 19-Year-Old Boy Hospitalized Outside 'Family Food' Restaurant

Today, on April 11, a shooting occurred in the Kotayk region. At around 02:30, the Abovyan Medical Center alerted the Kotayk police that a group of doctors had transferred a citizen with gunshot wounds to them.

According to Shamshyan.com, doctors at the hospital informed the police and investigators that the injured person was unable to provide an explanation about the incident, and after receiving first aid on-site from Abovyan doctors, he was transported to the Armenia Medical Center in Yerevan.

The police and investigators determined that the injured individual is 19-year-old Armen Poghosyan, a resident of Abovyan, who sustained gunshot wounds near the notorious 'gas station' area towards the 'Family Food' restaurant.

According to reports from photojournalists, the boy's life was likely saved thanks to the Abovyan Hospital doctors, who were en route to another call when they noticed the citizen lying on the ground, approached him, provided urgent first aid, and transferred him to the hospital.

Information from the site indicates that the police and the investigative department are determining the make of the vehicle used by the perpetrator or perpetrators to flee the scene.
