Relatives of Captives Block Roads in Shirak Province

Relatives of the reservists held captive have blocked roads in Shirak Province starting at 6 AM today. They shared this information with Azatutyun.

The relatives are demanding a clear answer regarding when the captives will be returned. They have repeatedly emphasized that political forces should not politicize the issue of the captives; their sole demand is the return of their children.

As a reminder, on Thursday evening, the relatives gathered at the ‘Erebuni’ airport, waiting for a flight from Baku that was expected to bring back Armenian captives. However, it was later revealed that the return of the captives is once again being delayed.

To date, 69 captives have been returned to Armenia from Azerbaijan, including 8 of the 62 reservists captured in Khtsaberd during the 44-day war in Artsakh. Armenia has transferred 15 individuals to Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan insists that those captured in Khtsaberd are not prisoners of war but rather terrorists and saboteurs.
