Phone Call from an Azerbaijani Number Informs Parent that Their Son is in Their Custody

Relatives of missing and captured servicemen continue to gather outside the Ministry of Defense. One parent told reporters that they plan to stay until their children are returned.

The father of one of the servicemen emphasized that insufficient actions are being taken towards retrieving their children: “Azerbaijan did not return the prisoners; they shouldn’t have given up Kelbajar either. Why did they give it up? Before giving Kelbajar, they should have asked for the prisoners back. What was stopping them?”

A participant in the protest also shared that they received a phone call from an Azerbaijani number informing them that their son was in their custody: “I contacted the National Security Service; they will clarify the other issues,” he noted.

The parent added that the Chief of General Staff should have initially accepted all parents, but the agreement later changed, proposing to accept only ten parents at a time, which the families of missing and captured servicemen did not agree to. “We refuse; either everyone is accepted, or no one,” one parent stated during the discussion with reporters.

“Isn’t there any space in this huge building to meet with all the parents? Our demand remains the same; we will stay here. We have nowhere to go; what would we do if we left? My only son, just 18 years old and served for one month, was taken from his position, and no one is responding,” he added, stating that sufficient measures are not being taken to recover their children.
