I Have Always Said We Should Talk to Turkey, MP

I have always said we should talk to Turkey: this was stated by Andranik Kocharyan, an MP from the 'My Step' faction, during a press briefing with journalists in the National Assembly.

He noted that during the first Nagorno-Karabakh war, the authorities of Armenia and Turkey communicated. "Even Levon Ter-Petrosyan went to the funeral of Turgut Özal (President of Turkey). I, being the mayor of Meghri, spoke with the Minister of Internal Affairs of Nakhichevan, we were at war and talking; we need to talk, because if we don’t, others will speak on our behalf. Do you remember when Serzh Sargsyan played football? That was normal too," Kocharyan stated.

He emphasized that talking is always better than shooting, and as for how to communicate with Turkey, he believes that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should find the answer to that question.
