The 'Fearless Girl' statue is a gift from Mane Tandilyan, the Minister of Labor, Social Affairs, and Migration of Artsakh, to the Ministry of Labor and Social Issues. This was stated today, April 8, in an interview with NEWS.am by Zara Manucharyan, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Labor and Social Issues.

“Initiated by Mesrop Arakelyan, the statue was installed yesterday. April 7 was chosen as a symbolic day for women and girls. The aim is to encourage the role of girls in society and to elevate them to leadership,” Zara Manucharyan noted.

According to the spokesperson, it is symbolic to place the statue right in front of the Government's third building. “The statue faces the government, meaning it's a fearless girl standing up to authority, not turning away. The girl is bold, demanding, and a rightful advocate for her rights,” she added.

The sculptor of the statue is Armen Samvelyan. In an interview with the media, he mentioned that the concept for the statue was provided by the client: “The order was placed a year ago, but installation was postponed due to the coronavirus and the war.”

Recall that the 'Fearless Girl' statue was installed yesterday, April 7, in front of the Government's third building.
