Investigation Underway into Carbon Monoxide Poisoning of Sisters Aged 15 and 17 in Jrararate, One Fatality
On April 7, 2021, at 10:25 AM, the «Hrazdan Medical Center» LLC reported to the Hrazdan Division of the Police of Armenia regarding the acute carbon monoxide poisoning of a 17-year-old resident of Jrararate village in Kotayk province, along with her 15-year-old sister who was found dead.
This information was provided by the Information and Public Relations Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
In connection with the incident, a criminal case has been initiated at the Kotayk Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee under Article 279, Part 2, Clause 3 of the Criminal Code of Armenia, which pertains to the release or sale of goods that do not meet safety requirements, as well as the delivery of works or provision of services.
Investigative actions have been carried out, including an examination of the crime scene and the appointment of forensic medical, forensic autopsy, and forensic technical examinations. Measures are being taken to clarify all circumstances of the case.
Note: A person suspected of or charged with a crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedure established by the Criminal Procedure Code of Armenia and by a legally binding court verdict.
