Government Withdraws Bill Violating the Constitutional and Legal Guarantees of the Ombudsman’s Independence

The Government has withdrawn the bill that aimed to undermine the constitutional and legal guarantees of the Ombudsman’s independence from the National Assembly. This was reported by Ani Samsonyan, a member of the ‘Enlightened Armenia’ parliamentary faction, on her Facebook page.

“There must have been external pressure for them to understand that it is unacceptable to dismantle the only established institution of the state,” Samsonyan wrote.
