The State Agency for Automobile Roads of Azerbaijan is conducting extensive works on the construction and restoration of infrastructure in areas of Nagorno-Karabakh that have come under Azerbaijani control, under the instruction of President Ilham Aliyev.
According to Minval.az, among the projects being implemented are the Khudafarin-Kubatluy-Lachin (Khudafarin-Varotani-Berdzor) and Khanlig-Kubatluy (Khanlig-Varotani) highways.
The length of the Khudafarin-Kubatluy-Lachin highway, which begins from the section of the main road known as the Hajigabul-Mincivan-Zangezur corridor near the Khudafarin reservoir, measures 66 km. A new road is also planned to be constructed, stretching 17 km from the settlement of Khanlig to the city of Kubatluy (Varotani).
It has been noted that the new highways will pass through the Zangeleani (Kovsakan), Varotani, and Berdzor regions.
