Armenia Pays $19 for Two Doses of Sputnik V Vaccine, Minister Says

Currently, there is no registration of coronavirus vaccines as they are still in the third phase of trials. This was stated by the Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan during a conversation with journalists.

The minister noted that all vaccines that complete phase three of clinical trials will receive a registration certificate at some stage.

In response to a remark that there is permission to use the vaccines, but they are not officially registered, Anahit Avanesyan stated that all current vaccines are being administered under a usage permit. “We have all the legal grounds to use Sputnik V,” said the minister.

When asked how people are being vaccinated if the research phases are not completed, the minister explained that the third phase of clinical research is the mass usage phase. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, all countries allow the use of vaccines under such a mechanism.

Regarding how much was paid for the acquired Sputnik V vaccine, the minister noted that $19 was paid for two doses.
