Armenia and Russia's Defense Ministers Discuss Security Issues in Syunik
On April 7, a telephone conversation took place between Armenian Defense Minister Vagharshak Harutyunyan and Russian Defense Minister, Army General Sergei Shoigu.
The leaders of the allied countries' defense departments discussed various issues regarding the operation of the 102nd Russian military base stationed in Armenia and the joint Armenian-Russian military group. They also addressed the extensive reforms currently underway in the Armenian army and a wide range of questions related to addressing security challenges in Syunik.
Harutyunyan and Shoigu also touched upon the progress of the Russian peacekeeping mission in Nagorno-Karabakh.
