‘Specialized Cannabis Greenhouse’ Discovered in Arzakan Village; Three Individuals Arrested

As part of a criminal investigation conducted by the Kotayk regional investigative department of the RA Investigative Committee, on April 4, 2021, a search was carried out in one of the houses on Aigekortsakan Street in the summer cottage area of Arzakan village, resulting in the discovery of a ‘specialized cannabis greenhouse’ in collaboration with the NSS (National Security Service) employees. From there, 120 cannabis plants grown in 97 containers were seized, along with 2 and 32 grams of a greenish substance with a peculiar cannabis odor, two glass jars, one syringe, and a glass container labeled ‘серебро серникислое’. Additionally, buckets filled with a transparent liquid containing residues were found on the floor.

On the same day, three residents of Yerevan were arrested on suspicion of growing and cultivating cannabis plants in large quantities in the aforementioned house, in preliminary agreement with other individuals. The investigation continues.

Notification: The suspect in the alleged crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedure established by the Criminal Procedure Code of the RA, through a legally binding court judgment.
