Fatal Car Accident in Ararat Province: Criminal Case Initiated

The Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia is conducting an investigation to clarify the circumstances surrounding a fatal car accident that occurred on April 4.

On April 4, 2021, around 2:30 PM, three vehicles – a "NISSAN X-TRAIL 2.0", a "NISSAN BLUEBIRD SYLPHY 2.0", and a "VAZ 2106" – collided at the intersection near the villages of Verin Artashat and Aygipat on the rural road leading from the village of Vostan to the village of Kaghzrashen in Ararat Province. As a result of the collision, the driver of the "VAZ 2106" sustained fatal injuries.

Two passengers from the same vehicle and a passenger from the "NISSAN BLUEBIRD SYLPHY 2.0" were taken to the medical center with bodily injuries. On the same day, a criminal case was initiated by the Investigative Committee of the Ararat Provincial Investigative Department under Part 2 of Article 242 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, which addresses violations of traffic safety regulations.

An examination of the accident site has been conducted, and forensic examinations have been commissioned. Efforts are underway to establish all the circumstances of the incident.
