The Situation at the Armed Forces General Staff is Resolved: Artak Davtyan

Today, we mourn and are proud of our brave servicemen who became martyrs for the homeland while fulfilling their duties during the April Four-Day War and the 44-day war. This was stated by the Chief of the Armed Forces General Staff, Artak Davtyan, during a conversation with journalists at the Yerablur pantheon on April 2.

Commenting on the lessons learned from the April Four-Day War, he noted, “Of course, if we had not learned lessons from April, the outcome of this 44-day war would have been different and it could have taken place within different timeframes. Firstly, we could have completely lost Artsakh; secondly, this could have happened within 15-20 days.”

Artak Davtyan emphasized that the April Four-Day War involved combat operations and, by classical assessment, cannot be classified as a war. It is worth reminding that exactly five years ago, on April 2, 2016, the April Four-Day War began.
