Fines Issued for Not Wearing Masks in Public Transport

On April 2, employees of the transport safety divisions of the Yerevan Territorial Administration observed 93 means of transport in various administrative districts of the capital. A total of 16 fines were issued for drivers not wearing masks.

In the regions of Armavir, Gegharkunik, Tavush, and Vayots Dzor, transport safety employees, along with representatives from the Health and Labor Inspection Body and the Road Police, conducted joint inspections to monitor compliance with COVID-19 anti-epidemic regulations.

As a result of the inspections conducted in Armavir city, 24 fines were issued, of which 18 were for the absence of informational leaflets, and 3 each for overcrowding and drivers and passengers not wearing masks.

In the Vayots Dzor region, 8 interregional and 1 inter-district routes were observed, involving 9 minivans and 2 taxis. Several minivans lacked informational leaflets, but passengers and drivers largely adhered to anti-epidemic rules.

In the Gegharkunik region, specifically in the Gavar area, ongoing monitoring and control were conducted over 18 transport vehicles. Six violations were recorded due to overcrowded vehicles, and the absence of disinfectants and informational leaflets in passenger compartments.

In the Tavush region, inspectors conducted rounds at the Ijevan and Dilijan bus stations. No violations were detected and no fines were issued. Informational leaflets were provided to public transport drivers.

The regulatory body will continue to monitor public transport.
