We Have Decided to Import and Use AstraZeneca Vaccine, Says Minister
24,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine imported to Armenia have not yet been distributed to healthcare facilities. This was announced by Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan after a government meeting.
The minister stated that specific tasks related to customs clearance, distribution, and other preparations are in progress. She mentioned that they met with the directors of polyclinics in Yerevan yesterday to discuss the situation and ongoing training efforts.
Avanesyan expressed hope that by Monday, the vaccine will be available in Yerevan and in the regions.
In response to a journalist's clarifying question, Avanesyan confirmed that a decision has been made to import and use the AstraZeneca vaccine. When asked about several European countries that have refused this vaccine, she noted that while some countries have temporarily halted the use of specific batches, others have resumed usage, and some have not refused it at all.
