Value the price paid for peace and the eternal life of Armenians: The Catholicos's message

His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, has sent a message in anticipation of Good Friday:

“Dear faithful children of ours, with the spiritual experiences of Great Lent, we have step by step arrived at Holy Thursday. Today, we recall the establishment of the sacrament of Holy Communion by our Lord Jesus Christ in the Upper Room, and this evening, through the ceremony of the Last Supper, we are approaching the most sacred moment of this holy week—Good Friday.

Dear ones, on Good Friday, we are called to reflect in prayer and spiritual contemplation, with regret and repentance, on the horrific sufferings borne by the Lord for our liberation from sin, His atoning death, and the path to salvation opened for us. On this day, while we mourn, through the mystery of the Holy Resurrection, we glorify and exalt the death of the Savior, and in our prayers, let us remember the defenders of our homeland—our fallen children, the wounded, those in captivity, and the missing—who have undertaken Christ-like sacrifices, and let us value the price paid for the sake of peace and the eternal life of Armenians.

The Catholicos urges that the image of the Crucifixion of the Lord remain strong in our hearts—let us remain firm in faith and pray continually, asking for the mercy of our Heavenly Father for our souls, as well as peace and security for our homeland, unity, and an unwavering will to rise above trials for our entire people,” the message of the Catholicos reads.
