No, I Exclude It. Marukyan on Forming a Coalition with Pashinyan

The head of the 'Enlightened Armenia' faction, Edmon Marukyan, today ruled out the possibility of forming a coalition with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a conversation with journalists in the National Assembly.

"No, I exclude it: I rule out a coalition with Prime Minister Pashinyan. If the Prime Minister is someone else, we will discuss it," Marukyan stated during the conversation with reporters. He also mentioned that they do not consider themselves supporters of Nikol Pashinyan's agenda. Excluding the rise to power of those who do not bring reconciliation to the country is the third avenue.

Regarding the current parliament, Marukyan believes it is illegitimate. "They criticize the electoral system by which they were elected. They do this so that tomorrow or the next day, they could hand over Stepanakert, and not a single person will stand up from their faction, everyone will silently gaze at the face of their wise leader," he noted, adding that they want to bring a fight between Nikol Pashinyan and the former government with a new electoral system. According to Marukyan, this has always been Pashinyan's dream.

The opposition faction leader also commented on the anticipated changes: "From the new podium, they said there would be ideological debates; what is ideological — the 'Galery' or the 'Wolf-Biters'?" Marukyan stated that 'Enlightened Armenia' does not intend to withdraw its public promise, and there are no grounds for postponing the elections.
