51-Year-Old Man Found Dead Near Kyarkhi Bend Was a Director of a Private Company

A criminal case has been initiated based on the characteristics of Article 104, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia regarding the discovery of the body of 51-year-old Zhirik Shajanian, who was reported missing, near an overturned vehicle at the Kyarkhi bends on March 30.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, an external examination by a forensic doctor revealed that sticky tape had been wrapped around the victim's neck.

Reportedly, the deceased was the director of the private company 'Alanush Shahin's Bandari Masihi.' As previously reported, a mysterious incident occurred in the Ararat region on March 30. Around 14:00, citizens reported to the 911 operational management center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations that a vehicle was overturned and a man’s body was found approximately 20 meters away from the vehicle on the 82nd km of the Yerevan-Jeghas-Megri highway, in the valley of the Kyarkhi bends.

Emergency services promptly arrived at the scene, led by the deputy commander of the Ararat region rescue department, Arsen Babagulian. Police discovered blood-like traces on the asphalt at the accident site, prompting the arrival of a forensic expert from the Ararat regional police department.

Investigators established that the deceased was Zhirik Shajanian, a resident of Yerevan, who, according to friends at the scene, was working as a manager. His relatives had reported him missing to the Erebuni police, and during the search, friends discovered him deceased in the specified area. His Ford Transit vehicle was also found overturned in the valley.
