Georgia May Open Land Borders
The government of Georgia is considering the possibility of opening its land borders. This was stated by the country’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Natia Turnava, during a conversation with journalists, as reported by Sputnik Georgia.
“The main thing that can ensure the continued fluctuations of the lari exchange rate is the rapid recovery of the economy. You know that we have practically eliminated the main restrictions on the recovery of tourism. Vaccinations are underway, which will become an obstacle to a third wave. Tourism will bring additional currency to the country. We are now already discussing under what conditions we can open the land borders, and that will be a good boost for our financial market,” said Turnava.
