Putin Explains Why He Didn’t Get Vaccinated in Front of Cameras

Russian President Vladimir Putin has declined to have his coronavirus vaccination be a public event for the media, unlike leaders from other countries, as he did not want to engage in what he called "monkey business."

“Should we do monkey business? Must we do it like others?” the Russian leader said in an interview with Pavel Zarubin as part of the program “Moscow. Kremlin. Putin.”

“Probably not, right? Because if someone wants to fake something at that level—to deceive someone, it’s not difficult to do. They can show that injection, while actually injecting a saline solution, or whatever—a bit of kefir or some orange juice. I am joking, of course, but let’s say just vitamins. But that’s not serious, in my opinion,” Putin added.

He mentioned that before the vaccination, his body temperature was measured, as is standard protocol for everyone. The president emphasized the importance of vaccination for citizens who wish to feel secure, avoid illness, and prevent severe consequences from the disease.

It should be noted that the Russian leader was vaccinated just days ago. He refused to disclose which vaccine he would be using, stating that the three Russian vaccines are all effective and safe. Putin revealed that the name of the vaccine he received is known only to his doctor who administered the vaccination.
