Over 500 Trucks Accumulated on the Russian Side of Lars: Situation on the Roads

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that there are closed and difficult-to-pass roads in the territory of Armenia. Closed are the Berd-Chambarak road in the Tavush region and the roads from the "Amberd" high-altitude meteorological station to the Amberd Fortress and to the Kari Lake in the Aragatsotn region, as well as the Jermuk-Gndevaz roads in the Vayots Dzor region (for trucks with trailers).

In the Syunik region, the Sisian-Zanger, Goris-Kapan roads and the roads in the Gegharkunik region, as well as the Vardenyats Pass (for trucks with trailers) are difficult to traverse.

On some sections of the intercommunity roads in the Lori and Syunik regions, and in the Ashotsk and Amasia regions of Shirak, as well as on the Lanjarr-Vedi roads in the Ararat region and on the Vanadzor-Dilijan roads, there are spots with black ice. Snow is falling in the cities of Ijevan and Dilijan in the Tavush region.

Fog is present in the cities of Berd and Noyemberyan in the Tavush region, as well as in Goris in the Syunik region.

Regarding Lars, according to information received from the emergency departments of Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs and the crisis management center of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations for North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open. There are about 521 trucks accumulated on the Russian side. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires.
