We Will Not Grant Them That Pleasure: Ishkhan Sagatelyan on Conditions for Meeting

The Homeland Salvation Movement reiterates its roadmap for overcoming the crisis: resignation of the Prime Minister, formation of a temporary government, and early parliamentary elections.

The council of the Homeland Salvation Movement has responded to the initiative for a meeting proposed by the President of Armenia. Ishkhan Sagatelyan, the movement's coordinator and representative of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation, shared details of the council's decision during a briefing with journalists.

"The council of the Homeland Salvation Movement, in response to the President's initiative, emphasizes that the country is on the brink of a national disaster, with a deepening security, political, and socioeconomic systemic crisis. The causes and responsible parties are known," he stated.

According to Sagatelyan, the Homeland Salvation Movement reaffirms its roadmap for overcoming the crisis, including the resignation of the Prime Minister, formation of a temporary government, and early parliamentary elections.

"Recognizing the urgent necessity to overcome the deepening crisis, we express our readiness to conduct political consultations in the mentioned format and with our proposed agenda," Sagatelyan announced.

He noted that they are willing to meet under that agenda and format, but emphasized that the meeting should be broadcast live and should not be formal.

"If Armen Sarkissian has coordinated his initiative with Nikol Pashinyan, and all they want is a scene where the opposition sits around the same table with Nikol Pashinyan, as they did at the National Security Service, we will not grant them that pleasure. If they genuinely want to seek solutions to the crisis created in the country, then we are ready for that meeting," he said.
