What Agreements Were Made Between the Tavush Governor and Those Who Blocked the Noyemberyan-Yerevan Road

The meeting between the individuals who blocked the Noyemberyan-Yerevan road and Tavush Governor Hayk Chobanyan has concluded. This information was reported to Sputnik Armenia by the press secretary of the governor's office, Lilit Sargsyan.

"About 10-15 people who had blocked the road met with the minister for approximately an hour. They expressed all their concerns and asked questions. The governor responded to misinformation related to demarcation works. The citizens agreed with the governor's approaches," Sargsyan stated.

The Tavush residents have agreed with the governor not to block the roads anymore. It should be noted that earlier today, they had blocked the Noyemberyan-Yerevan road, demanding a meeting with Chobanyan. The main reason for the protest and the meeting was the concerns regarding the situation at the border with Azerbaijan.

As previously reported, earlier, information had circulated on social networks and various media outlets that around 500 Russian peacekeepers and Azerbaijanis were conducting measurements along the border in several villages of Tavush province. Subsequently, this information was denied by the Ministry of Defense of Armenia. However, the flow of various and contradictory information regarding this section of the border has not ceased.
