Clarification: Contracts Between the Ministry of Health and MIBS LLC Amount to 289 Million Drams, Not 2 Million Dollars
The news website Tert.am published an article titled "During Arsen Torosyan's Tenure as Minister of Health, a Contract with His Wife's Medical Center Was Signed for Approximately 2 Million Usd," in which the report distorted the response received from the Ministry.
The Armenian Ministry of Health clarifies that the total amount of the contracts signed with MIBS LLC from 2018 to 2021 was not 2 million dollars but rather just 288 million 772 thousand AMD.
The written information provided to Tert.am indicated that the contract amounts at the beginning of the year and the amounts reported throughout the year should be considered cumulatively, rather than merely summed up mechanically.
As a result, in the years 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021, contracts were signed with MIBS LLC for 25 million 176 thousand, 98 million 934 thousand, 91 million 982 thousand, and 72 million 680 thousand AMD, respectively.
Over the course of four years, of the approximately 4.5 billion dram allocated for the program on "Difficult-to-Make Diagnosis Research," the organization received 288 million 772 thousand AMD.
For comparison, it is noted that in 2019, 2020, and 2021, for instance, 420 million 884 thousand AMD was allocated to Armamax LLC.
