Vahagn Tevosyan Appointed to Designated Position Without Resigning Parliamentary Mandate, Says Arsen Babayan
Member of Parliament Vahagn Tevosyan has been appointed to a designated position without resigning his parliamentary mandate. This was stated by Arsen Babayan, a member of the ‘Homeland’ party council and a human rights defender, on his Facebook page.
The post reads as follows:
“Member of Parliament Vahagn Tevosyan has been appointed as a member of the Council of Public Broadcasters by the Prime Minister's decision. He has been appointed to a designated position without resigning his parliamentary mandate... I specifically emphasize again that he has not been elected to an elective position, but has been appointed to a designated position.
I remind you that according to Article 95 of the Constitution, an MP cannot hold any position in state or local self-governing bodies unrelated to his status, hold any position in commercial organizations, engage in entrepreneurial activities, or perform paid work, except for scientific, educational, and creative work.
I wonder whether the well-known deserter, who was accused of stealing his friend's marriage and children's birth certificates, which led to his fraudulent escape from the army, and when caught, provided testimony against his own mother, has anything to say? For example, does he not see the crime of usurpation of power, about which he previously submitted false reports to the prosecutor?”
