Protests in Tbilisi Demand Cancellation of Curfew

A protest took place today in the center of Tbilisi demanding the cancellation of the "curfew," which has been in effect in the country for about four months. According to Новости-Грузия, the curfew, which prohibits movement during nighttime hours (9:00 PM to 5:00 AM), was established on November 28, 2020, due to a worsening epidemiological situation.

This measure is one of several minor restrictions still in place following the easing of quarantine measures in the country. Restrictions began to be gradually relaxed on February 1.

A fine of 2000 lari is imposed on individuals violating the curfew, while legal entities face fines of 10,000 lari.
